Random Yarn Pics

I just realized I have some yarn here that I never blogged. So here it is, in all its glory...

First we have some Shaeffer Anne. Isn't it lovely?

Next we have Bearfoot in Raven. This will be socks for Himself, eventually.

And This is some Lana Grossa I originally picked up for Mumblefee, but decided I liked too much and kept for myself. It's actually a deep purple and pale pink, perfect for my girly girls.

This one is the Knit Tin I purchased. I have since sent the actual tin on to Bumblefee, but I still have the yarn, needles and pattern. I'll likely use a different pattern, but I did use the needles for Amber's socks!

I think that's all for now. If I find more, I'll post it.

Mother's Day Pressies to Myself!

Since I knew my hubby wouldn't think to get me anything for Mother's Day, I went to the Glorious LYS and bought myself some stuff. I went in determined to get something *other* than sock yarn, but kept getting drawn back to the sock yarn wall... *sigh* So I finally caved in and bought some Panda Wool Yarn.

The colors are so lovely and calming. They just called to me. I kept getting drawn back to them, so I finally picked them up. It's a bamboo/wool/nylon blend.

I also picked up my Addi Turbo Lace needles they were holding for me, and a set of size 1 Bamboo DPN's. Whee! Now I can knit socks in comfort. I think once I get a set of size 0's and 3's, I'll be fairly set for sock knitting. I have metal needles in 000-1US, so I have those as a backup. I just really don't like knitting on metal. Ah well. The lace needles, of course, are a different story entirely. I have Icarus on my 3's I picked up last time I was in the store, and it's flying along now. The 4's are for the Peacock Feathers Shawl. I ordered another copy of the pattern so I can get the full-sized charts. I have my stitch markers waiting. Hopefully I'll finish Icarus in the next few weeks and get moving on the new shawl. Woohoo!

Last but not least, I bought Sensational Knitted Socks for myself. I figure if I'm gonna be knitting socks all the time, I should have a good basic sock book. Now I can combine patterns and make my own fabo designs!

Amber Sock

So I have ONE of Amber's socks done. I'd start the second, but I really should frog the toe and lengthen the foot by 1/2-3/4". They just fit her now, and she's a growing girl. I just can't bring myself to do it. I have the sock here, and the needles, and the yarn, but don't wanna mess with it. Oh well. Here it is, for your viewing pleasure:

FO's!!!

I did it! I completed a pair of socks for a full-sized person (namely me)! I wore them the day I finished them, washed 'em and dried 'em with everything else in my laundry, and wore 'em all day yesterday and still have them on. :)

I should probably take them off so I don't wear them completely out.

But HERE they are! Aren't they beee-you-tee-ful? And they are very warm and fuzzy. The pattern (in case you haven't read the 10 other posts about these socks) is Interweave Knits' Seduction Socks knit on size 2 bamboo Crystal Palace DPN's in Artsygal Sock Yarn in Wild Berry Knittles color. You can't get the yarn right now, but she was given some back so she can attempt to repeat the basic colorway. And the socks only used 1oz of yarn a piece, I could knit another pair with what I have left!
